Peaceful stays and operation
Zámek Berštejn is designed for quiet stays. When private events take place, no other guests are accommodated in the building at the same time.
The château operates seasonally, from April to October.
Sauna access is available for a fee.
Massages, cosmetic treatments, and other services are available upon request.
The outdoor swimming pool operates in summer only (large, unheated, suitable for swimming in warm weather).
Sports equipment for tennis, golf, volleyball, table football, pétanque and similar activities is available free of charge.
Dogs and nature
Dogs are welcome, primarily small and companion breeds. For other breeds, please check availability in advance.
Wildlife is present both within the grounds and in the surrounding countryside.
This is a bird-rich area — up to 220 species live in the nearby Novozámecký Pond Nature Reserve, many of which can also be seen in the château park.
Insects generally do not disturb guests; the natural balance is maintained by swallows and bats.
You may also see butterflies and, around Midsummer’s Night, thousands of fireflies.
At night, the terrace offers excellent conditions for observing the night sky and visible astronomical phenomena.
Beehives on the estate
Within the 15-hectare château grounds, there are clearly marked beehives located at a safe distance. They are part of our long-term relationship with the land and landscape surrounding Zámek Berštejn.
Bees are a natural and important element of sustainable land care. Their presence does not pose an increased risk — there are no more bees here than would naturally occur without the hives. They primarily forage in the surrounding forests and meadows rather than in the park itself.
Honey from our own hives is served at the breakfast buffet and is also available for purchase.
Guests with allergies to bee stings are kindly advised to bring their own medication or injector as a precaution.
